KPIs from the Internet

A brand’s Web and social Web KPIs are increasingly important measures for investors and marketing partners as well as for the brand’s managers. One type of KPI — clickstreams, conversions, etc — is internally generated and available only to the brand site/profile owner or paid media account holder. Another type of KPI is derived from the Internet itself and includes measures of strength, popularity etc for all sites and profiles. Since a brand can’t access its competitors accounts, data mined from the Internet provides the most comprehensive, side-by-side view of competitor online activity available.
